I am running for New York State Assembly because I believe the people of District 144 deserve effective representation in Albany. As your Assembly member, I vow to address environmental issues, support education and bring real ethics reform to Albany.

ENVIRONMENT

Environmental threats to public health need immediate action from both Albany and Washington, D.C. The rates of cancer, multiple sclerosis and other autoimmune diseases in Western New York are more than double the national average. We must do everything in our power to reverse this alarming statistic now. I am committed to battling pollution in all forms, and protecting our bodies of water and green space for generations to come. Clean up for life.

EDUCATION

Survival of public education needs the involvement of all: parents, students, teachers, administrators, mentors, and yes, taxpayers, to maximize the value of the education our children are receiving. Teachers need to be unshackled to teach more effectively. We should do everything in our power to help teachers and students work together to achieve their greatest success. Abandoning our schools is not the answer. Quality public education is the primary pathway by which every person, regardless of their background or socioeconomic status, has an opportunity to succeed. New York's schools are in many cases under performing and in need of additional investment. Teach for the future.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

Tourism as a catalyst for economic growth has been touted often by local leaders, but the outcomes have not matched the rhetoric. With our neighbor Niagara Falls as a major international tourist destination hub, we must engage guests from around the world, and improve transportation infrastructure to get them to historic Lockport, to the charm of Clarence, Akron, Medina, Alden, Middleport and Barker, and to the inviting shores of Wilson, Youngstown and Olcott Beach on Lake Ontario. We need to have a bold presence in global markets to attract far more of the international tourist pool. Out with tired ideas.

ETHICS REFORM

The need for ethics reform in state government is glaringly obvious and that reform starts at home with your vote.  Rampant corruption has plagued Albany for far too long, and it is time to clean house. This corruption must end now.

OPIOID CRISIS

The over prescription of opioids has led us into a crisis that is killing our young people at an alarming rate. I will do everything in my power to stop this drug abuse. This epidemic must be eliminated.

21ST CENTURY AGRICULTURE

I will also seek to expand and grow our 21st Century agricultural economy to keep New York farmers among the most productive and successful in our nation. Grow New York farming.

I will be talking about all of these very important pillars of my platform in detail during my campaign.
